Elections Commission Chairman to appear before Supreme Court again

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Supreme Court today (March 08) ordered the petitioners to re-send notices to the Chairman of the Elections Commission, Mahinda Deshapriya and its members to appear before the court on the 29th of this month. The order was issued when the FR petition filed by Attorney-at-law, Premanath Dolawatte of the Truth Seekers' Movement requesting an order be issued to hold the provincial council election as soon as possible was taken up. The petition was called up before a three-member bench consisting of Justices, Sisira De Abrew, Prasanna Jayawardena, and P. Padman Surasena.
