The complaint handed over reffered to the irregularities in the cancelling of the order for Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Chief Secretary of the party Upul Wijesekara said that the said complaint refers to UNP Pty Chairman Kabir Hashim. He claimed that when the present government had come into power that they had halted the transaction of purchasing the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Wijesekara pointed out that as a result of the halted transaction and the government overstepping the tender process, there ws a loss of Rs. 150 billion. He said that in normal terms that the party who takes the step to terminate an agreement should negotiaate the matter and come to settlement, SriLankan Airlines never did such a thing. The Chief Secretary claims that this only explains that the actions were a result of the whims of a certain individual adding that there is a possibility that each party concerned may have pocketed around Rs. 10 million through this transaction.
