Budget 2019: Vehicle prices shoot up

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Following the presentation of the budget 2019 in parliament today (March 05) vehicle importers claim that the prices of several vehicles have increased:

• Maruti Suzuki Wagon R vehicle increased by Rs. 250,000
• Maruti Suzuki Alto increased by Rs. 150,000
• Toyota Axio and Toyota Aqua have been increased by Rs. 600,000
• Toyota Premio and Toyota CHR have increased by Rs. 700,000

However, the vehicle importers state that the prices of electric vehicles have been reduced but by an insignificant amount.
