BUDGET 2019 - Ready for presentation

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The 2019 Budget themed ‘Empower the People, Nurturing the Poor’, will be presented at 2 pm in Parliament today The Parliament will covene at 2 p.m Speaker Karu Jayasuriya in the chair. The debate on the second reading of the budget will take place from March 6th to 12th , while the debate on the third reading will take place from the March 13th to April 5th. The voting on the budget will take place on April 5th. Several foreign diplomats are present at the VIP viewing gallery. They have been invited by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. A special security detail with the Police and STF has also been set in place at the parliamentary premises. Following the budget presentation, the Finance Minister will host the customary tea party.
