Northern province schools receive additional holiday for Maha Shivaratri

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Secretariat of the Governor of the northern province has announced that tomorrow (March 05) will be a holiday for all the schools to commemorate Maha Shivaratri. Additionally, the governor has requested all the tuition teachers to refrain from conducting tuition classes as well. Governor Suren Raghavan and the secretary of education of the northern province took this decision following discussions on the matter. The decision was made as the Maha Sivarathri continues to be celebrated tomorrow(March 05). Secretariat of the Governor of the northern province stated that they are to hold schools on another holiday to compensate for tomorrow(March 05).
