Colombo (News 1st): Two more suspects were arrested by the Peliyagoda Crimes Investigations Unit over the heist of diamonds and gems valued at over Rs. 700 million from a house in Pannipitiya, Maharagama.

Investigations revealed that the suspects aided the process of disposing of the gems and diamonds. Police said one of the suspects is a close relative of underworld leader Makandure Madush.

Earlier two people including an accomplice of Madush, Kasun Dananjaya also known as ‘Wedi-Kande Kasun’ were arrested over the heist. On November 5th last year, armed men dressed in police uniforms had broken into the house and made away with the precious stones.
