COLOMBO (News 1st) – On orders of President Maithripala Sirisena, the Education Ministry has decided to temporarily suspend the Suraksha insurance scheme for school children this year.

Secretary to the Ministry of Education Padmasiri Jayamanna noted that the decision was taken due to several complaints received by the President.

He added that once a report on the investigation which is currently being carried out on the complaints is received that due action will be implemented.
