COLOMBO (News 1st) – Today (February 28) marks the final day of the chainsaw registration process.
The police spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara noted that it is absolutely necessary to register all the unregistered chainsaws by the end of the day.
Issuing a notice on February 20th the Defence Ministry stated that all chainsaw machines used in state, semi-government, private institutions and used for private or corporate purposes must be registered at the nearest police station. A special license and a number plate will be issued to identify the registered chainsaws.
