COLOMBO (News 1st) – Two police officers were attacked when attempting to apprehend a man with a warrant issued against him.

The man who was wanted for defaulting payments attacked a police officer with a metal pipe when attempts were made to arrest him. The suspect assaulted another police officer this morning when a second attempt was launched to apprehend him.

Police stated the injured policemen are receiving treatment at the Horana Base Hospital. The attacker has been arrested and is to be produced before court.
