Wife of Pradeshiya Sabha member arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The wife of a Dehiowita Pradheshiya Sabha member was arrested today(February 24) in an operation carried out by STF in Awissawella. The police stated that STF investigated the PS member's house this morning and seized a shotgun, 9 rounds of ammunition, a sword and two illegal knives. The Pradeshiya Sabha member was not present at the residence at the time of the raid, his 44-year-old wife, Dhammika Rathnayake was arrested. The suspect and the seized weapons have been handed over to the Awissawella police.
