PM calls on the Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter

Colombo (News 1st): Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who arrived at the Malwathu Maha Viharaya this morning (Feb 24) called on the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero. Speaking to the media after the meeting the Premier noted that they discussed the conservation activities of temples and the issues in archaeology. The Prime Minister noted that he is hoping to hold discussions with the Minister of Cultural Affairs and implement a program in this regard. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called on the Chief Prelate of the Ramanya sect Venerable Napane Premasiri Thero and obtained blessings yesterday (Feb 23). When journalists questioned if the upcoming budget will provide relief to the people, he noted that the question should be posed to the Finance Minister.
