COLOMBO (News 1st) – The fisheries department has turned its attention towards tightening laws related to foreign fishermen who violate the maritime boundary of Sri Lanka.
Director of Operations Division of the Department of fisheries Kalyani Hewapathirana said that necessary steps will be taken to amend the two Acts pertaining to it.
Fifteen Indian fishermen were arrested on seven vessels during the month of January this year.
