1500 applications for sand mining permits

Colombo (News 1st): The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau says that they have received nearly 1500 applications for sand mining permits. The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau notes that investigations on locations have already begun before the issuance of licenses. Meanwhile, it noted that a final decision will be taken on the 28th of this month regarding the re-release of sand mining licenses in the Trincomalee district, which has been temporarily suspended.
