"Wedikande Kasun" at identification parade today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Kasun Dananjaya alias "Wedikande Kasun"; an accomplice of Makandure Madush who was arrested yesterday (February 19) is due to be presentedat an identification parade today (February 20). The identification process will get underway at the Nugegoda Magistrates Court. The suspect was arrested in an operation conducted by the Special Crimes Unit of Mirihana in Wedikanda, Kiribathgoda. The suspect has been identified as a 31-year-old individual from Wedikanda. The arrested person is also a suspect of an incident that occurred on the 05th of November last year where a man dressed as a police officer had assaulted residents of a house in Maharagama and robbed gems and jewellery. The suspect is also accused of abducting a foreigner who had arrived to purchase gems and later setting him free at Maharagama. The arrest was made based on the information received by analyzing telephone details and through interrogating a suspect who was arrested on a previous occasion.
