Free postal service allowance increased for MPs and Provincial council members

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special gazette notification has been issued to increase the free postal service allowance of MPs and Provincial Councill members. This was signed by the Minister of Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs Mr. M.H.A Haleem. The free postal service allowance of an MP which was previously at Rs. 175,000 per annum has been increased to Rs. 350,000 per annum. The Gazette has also doubled the free postal service allowance granted to a provincial council member from Rs. 24,000 to Rs. 48,000 per annum.
