Colombo (News 1st): Sri Lanka won the 1st test against South Africa by 1 wicket in Durban. Chasing a target of 304 Kusal Janith Perera ended the game in sublime fashion with a boundary.
Sri Lanka started the 4th day having scored 83 for the loss of 3 wickets. Oshada Fernando was out for 37. Niroshan Dickwella went for a duck. Dhananjaya de Silva missed out on his half-century after a brilliant knock of 48 runs.
Kusal Janith Perera's heroic 153 and his record 78 run partnership with Vishwa Fernando paved the way to Sri Lanka's victory. It should be noted that this is Kusal's 2nd test century.
