Colombo (News 1st): The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau states that Islandwide raids have been launched to curb illegal sand mining activities. Its chairman Asela Iddawela said the raids will be carried out with the support of the police Special Task Force.
Information on illegal sand rackets can be conveyed through the hotline 1921. The Chairman said that they receive around 10 complaints each day.
