Colombo (News 1st): Inaguration of the Sangha Sabha of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in Tangalle area took place at the Tangalle Carlton House.

Journalists questioned Namal Rajapaksa about the rumors of Prime Minister and the government having close affiliations with ‘Makandure Madush’.

Namal Rajapaksa noted that there was an accusation against Madush, which he took responsibility for, killing 7 or 8 people during a shooting at a prison bus. However, he noted that they did not know that the Police obtained a red notice against him.

Rajapaksa added that the government treats both the CBSL bond scammer Arjuna Mahendra and the drug trafficker ‘Makandure Madush’ in the same way, and it is a questionable situation. He noted that they feel that the police has a slow process regarding them without obtaining a red notice. He went onto note that there is reasonable doubt if the government is behind the safe passage of both of them.
