Colombo (News 1st): A group of young MPs from the opposition convened a media briefing today (Feb 15). MP D.V. Chanaka spoke about the case filed challenging the parliamentary seat of Ranil Wickremesinghe. He noted that it is not being considered as fast as they considered the case that was filed against Mahinda Rajapaksa. The case is being postponed every time it is taken up. MP Chanaka noted that if this case is postponed throughout this year, in the end, if there is a verdict that he cannot hold his seat, he would have already ended his term as an MP by then. The parliamentarian stated that they hope that Ranil Wickremesinghe will not influence the judiciary and the police, and all cases too will be considered in the same way.
