Reuters: New "Aladdin" trailer gives a first look at Will Smith as the blue Genie in Disney's live-action adaptation. The U.S. actor is seen towering over Aladdin, played by Egyptian-Canadian actor Mena Massoud, after taking over the role from the late Robin Williams. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film sees an international cast, including British-born Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Dutch actor Marwan Kenzari as Jafar and Emmy-winning "Homelands" star, Iranian-born Navid Negahban as the Sultan. Frank Welker will reprise his role as voice actor for Abu, Aladdin's mischievous pet monkey, while "The Big Short" actor Billy Magnussen plays a new character called Prince Anders. Eight-time Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken provides the score, while new recordings of the original songs are written by Menken and Oscar-winning lyricists Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. "Aladdin" is out in cinemas in the United States on May 24..
