Special team to combat smuggling of drugs and fire arms in coastal areas

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  The Department of Fisheries stated that a special team has been deployed to combat the crimes occurring in the coastal areas. Operations Director of the Department, Kalyani Hewapathirana said that the team will combat the smuggling of illegal firearms and narcotics. The team consists of officers attached to the Intelligence Unit of the Sri Lanka Navy, the Criminal Investigations Department, the Department of Fisheries and the Police.
