COLOMBO (News 1st) - MP Wimal Weerawansa stated that the government has sold all companies of EAP Group at a very low bid recently to the owner of the "infamous" Lyca Mobile company.
He said that this was done with the blessing of the Governor of the CBSL and the Prime Minister. The Governor of CBSL and the Prime Minister are involved in the matter he said. Adding that they had taken care to not to reveal their connections with the said company.
The MP continued to say that two individuals came forward as investors. Blue Summit based in Singapore had come forward to purchase the EAP companies. The shares of the said company were with the two individuals that came forward.
"By the 24th of July, 2018, a company named PETIGO bought 100% of the shares of Blue Summit Capital Management Private Limited. Who owns PETIGO? The Governor of the Central Bank should be fully responsible for this transaction" added Weerawansa.
He said that although they had acted as if they did not know anything that it was not the case. The Prime Minister and Mano Tittawella, a consultant under former President Chandrika Kumaranatunga are directly behind the transaction he commented.
Weerawansa also warned the Governor of the Central Bank that this government continuously steals from the CBSL. He added that just as during Arjuna Mahendran's tenure they stole from bonds, under the current Governor there is a racket to buy Sri Lankan companies through funds of the LTTE diaspora for low prices.
