New regulations on sale of fishing boats

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Fisheries noted that the selling and transferring of fishing boats through the district secretariats will be prohibited from today (February 07). Operations Director at the Department Kalyani Hewapathirana said that this decision was made due to the increase in the number of irregularities utilizing fishing boats. Hewapathirana added that a pamphlet containing all the relevant information regarding the matter was issued to all district offices.
