Three arrested with 110 KG of Heroin

Colombo (News1st): Three suspects were arrested for possession of 110Kgs of Heroin. The Investigative Unit of the Excise department said that two of their officers who went undercover as buyers apprehended two suspects in possession of 10 kilograms of Heroin in Wellawatta. A further 100 Kilograms of Heroin was discovered in the house of the third suspect in Gandambuwana, Piliyandala. He was arrested based on information revealed during the interrogation of the first two suspects. According to the excise department, the haul of drugs had been brought into the island via sea two days ago. The heroin is valued at over Rs. 100 Million. Meanwhile, two drug peddlers were arrested in Mihindupura, Thissamaharamaya yesterday (Feb 4). The News1st correspondent in the area said 250 packets of heroin were found in their possession.
