Customs Trade Union calls off their strike

Colombo (News1st): Customs Trade Unions called off their strike action this evening after they were officially informed of the reinstatement of Director General P.S.M. Charles. During the cabinet meeting held today, approval was granted to reinstate Charles to the post of Director General of Customs for a period of three months. Business activities of many sectors including importers were severely affected by the trade union action conducted during the past seven days.
