COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Department of Meteorology forecasts an increase in the rainfall to the Northern and Eastern provinces of the island.

The Department further notes that the Uva, North Central, Central provinces and the Hambantota district could also experience an increased rainfall. Several areas in the Northern, North Central, Central, Western, Sabaragamuwa and Eastern provinces and the Galle and Matara districts are most likely to experience rainfall of over 100mm while the rest of the areas may experience rainfall of around 75mm.

The department forecasts temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers as well.
