6700 security force personnel to participate at the Independence day celebrations

COLOMBO (News 1st) - All preparations have now been made in line with the 71st Independence celebrations to be held at Galle face tomorrow (February 04). The Independence day parade is due to consist of 6700 personnel from the tri-forces and the Sri Lankan police. 162 officers from the Sri Lanka Army will participate in the parade with another 3710 Army personnel. Meanwhile, 997 Navy personnel will be participating in the parade along with 47 officers of the Navy. 49 officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force are also due to participate along with 883 Air Force personnel. 920 personnel from the Police and Special Task Force and 302 cadets representing the National Cadet Corps are also due to participate in the parade. A special traffic plan will be in effect today (February 04) in line with the rehearsals of the Independence day celebrations.
