School principal arrested for bribery

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A principal of a popular school in Horowpothana has been arrested when attempting to obtain a bribe. The Bribery commission said that this principal had requested for a bribe of Rs. 10,000 to enter a student to Grade 06. He was arrested this morning (January 31) at his office when he was obtaining Rs. 5000. The arrest was made based on a tip-off. The suspect is due to be presented before the Horowpothana Magistrate.
