Colombo (News1st): Following information provided by the High Commission of Malaysia to the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Center, stationed at the Naval Headquarters, the Sri Lanka Navy yesterday (Jan 30) rendered assistance to bring ashore a sailor who was taken ill on board Royal Malaysian Naval Vessel KD Kasthuri. On receipt of the distress call, the Navy promptly dispatched a Fast Attack Craft (FAC) attached to the Western Naval Command to retrieve the patient. Accordingly, the patient was transferred to the FAC about 05 nautical miles south of the Colombo Lighthouse and was brought to the Colombo harbour. The patient was rushed to a private hospital in Colombo for further treatment.
