New hotline for Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A new hotline was introduced at the Foreign employment bureau to provide easy access to its services. The general public can now obtain information on the services provided by the Bureau by dialling 1989. The ceremony to launch the hotline was held under the patronage of the Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports, Harin Fernando and Swiss Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Hanspeter Mock. Addressing those gathered at the ceremony the Minister said that the bureau has all the necessary information to bring back individuals facing any form of distress in a foreign country. He further continued to say that the provision of insurance, scholarships for children of migrant workers and many other programmes would also be facilitated through the bureau.
