Government takes steps to import to Corn

Colombo (News1st): The Agricultural Ministry has taken steps have been taken to issue permits to import corn. Secretary to the Ministry K.D.S. Ruwam Chandrasiri said that there is a requirement for about 150,000 metric tonnes of corn in the country adding that the decision to import corn was taken after corn cultivation around the country were affected by the Sena caterpillar.
