COPE proceeding to be opened to the media

Colombo (News1st): Proceedings of the Committee on public enterprise or COPE will be opened to the media. Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri said that standing orders pertaining to this are currently being formulated. He added that they plan to open the proceedings of COPE to the media as soon as possible. Deputy speaker said that attention has been focused on allowing media to cover all committee meetings in parliament. The Chairman of COPE previously requested the speaker for the proceeding of COPE to be open to the media. Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts Lasantha Alagiyawanna speaking to News 1st after being appointed to the position said that proceedings of this committee too will be open to the media.
