160th Uda Gammana village declared open

Colombo (News1st): The 160th Uda Gammana project was declared open today in the Bandagiriya, Thammannawa area in Hambantota. The event was held under the auspices of Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs, and Deputy Leader of the UNP Sajith Premadasa. The Sandalugama village, comprising of 46 houses, which was constructed on a community participation basis consists of regular access and internal roads, clean drinking water, and electricity. Ownership deeds, Visira housing loans, as well as the distribution of professional tools, spectacles, and medical clinics were held under the Shilpa Saviya programme. The minister made a personal donation of Rs. 400,000 for the purchase of uniforms to the cadet's corps of the Tangalle Balika Vidyalaya.
