Colombo (News1st): UPFA Parliamentarian Mahindananada Aluthgamage addressing a meeting of the SLPP in Nawalapitiya noted that the people of the country are prepared to send the current administration home because it was the President himself that launched the first attack on the administration.

Aluthgamage added that around 48 political parties have got together to create a platform against the United National Party. He claimed that this platform will be solidified in the coming days when President Maithripala Sirisena and Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa sit down to finalise it.

He asked the people to keep in mind that if the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and Podujana Peramuna contest together in this election they will start counting the votes from 6.5 million.

Aluthgamage went onto note that Mahinda Rajapaksa, Maithiripala Sirisena and other political parties will come together to decide who is going to be the next common candidate. He noted that there are 5 candidates from the United National Party and no matter who gets selected, 4 out of 5 will join us.

Talking about the UNP he noted that the representative of the Kandy District has been Kiriella for about 60 years. He noted that the UNP does not give an opportunity for the young MPs.
