Heavy rainfall expected over the next few days

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology in its latest weather advisory, notes that heavy rainfall exceeding 100mm could be expected from several areas of the Central and Uva provinces and in the Batticaloa, Ampara and Polonnaruwa districts. The Department further noted that showers or thundershowers with temporary strong winds could also be experienced in these areas. Rainfall exceeding 100mm could also be experienced from the Nuwara Eliya district due to active clouds developing over the Eastern parts of the island.
