2 year prison sentence for turtle butchers

Colombo (News 1st) - A mother and daughter who were arrested for the possession of Turtle Meat and Turtle eggs in Anavilundawa were sentenced to 2 years in prison by Chilaw District Magistrate Rakitha Abeysinghe. The suspects were fined 50,000 rupees each and if the suspects fail to pay the fine, the jail term would be extended by another five months. The mother and daughter were arrested for the possession of 25 kilograms of turtle meat and 2111 eggs.
