Orders to crack down on drug menace

COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Maithripala Sirisena ordered the police to take measures to prevent the growing drug menace in the vicinity of schools. The President says that the government has already taken a large number of measures to control the illegal usage of drugs. Further, the President ordered the relevant sectors to implement a programme with the participation of all parties concerned to completely root out the growing drug menace carried out targetting school children. These orders were given at a special discussion, to minimize the spreading drug menace, held this morning (January 10) at the President's office.
