Carbon tax for vehicles from January

Colombo (News1st): A Carbon tax will be imposed on cars which use fossil fuels including Hybrid cars from January 1. The Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic A. H. K. Jagath Chandrasiri says the Carbon Tax will be based on the fuel consumption of vehicles. Electric cars have been exempt from this carbon tax.
