COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Police has arrested eight suspects for the possession of over 43g of heroin in raids conducted islandwide.
Keselwaththa
The Police confirmed that a 36-year-old person was arrested from Sanchi Arachchiwatta, Keselwaththa for the possession of over 20g of heroin. He has been identified as a resident of Batticaloa.
Meanwhile, the police vice unit of the Colombo central division arrested a 29-year-old for the possession of 02g and 410mg of heroin from Kumara- Doratuwa in Keselwaththa. The suspect is due to be presented before the Maligakanda Magistrates Court today (January 08).
Balummahara, Yakkala
Over 5g of heroin was seized from Balummahara, Yakkala. The 27-year-old suspect arrested with the heroin has been identified as a resident of Weliweriya.
Badulla
Two suspects (29 years and 24 years) have been arrested at the Badulla depot along with over 05g of heroin. The duo are residents of Welimada and Badulla.
The divisional anti-narcotics unit has arrested a 26-year-old and 27-year-old for the possession of 07g and 245mg of heroin. Both the suspects are due to be presented before the Badulla Magistrates Court today (January 08).
Panadura
Meanwhile an 18-year-old has been arrested from the Uthuru Sangabo Mawatha in Panadura with 02g and 100mg of heroin. He is due to be presented before the court today (January 08).
