I was offered post of PM 61 times when MR was in power - Sajith Premadasa

Colombo (News 1st) - After assuming duties as Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs Minister Sajith Premadasa was welcomed in the Tangalle town today. The Minister arrived at the Tangalle town in a vehicle parade. A ceremony was held near the Naakulugamuwa Gamini Vidyalaya. In his speech, he initially stated that they should refrain from making too much noise as it would disturb the students at the school. Then Min. Premadasa went onto state that he would reveal a secret as the President himself has revealed part of it. The minister claimed that he was asked to accept the post of PM on 10 occasions prior to the 26th of October. He noted that following the appointment of Mahinda Rajapaksa as the PM he was asked on 61 separate occasions to accept the position of PM. He stated that this should provide a good idea of what kind of politician he is. Addressing a separate public rally, Min. Sajith Premadasa spoke on the incidents that transpired in Parliament. He noted that while they stayed patiently, maintaining a majority in Parliament, a father and son duo were issuing instructions to other parliamentarians to hit, cut, stab and destroy everything. He noted that during the brief period they were not in Government steps were taken to destroy the plaques set up in the village that was built in remembrance of late maestro Amaradeva.
