Colombo (News1st): Two 23-year-olds were arrested on the 2nd of January by the Vavuniya Traffic police for insulting a traffic police dummy. The duo had posted a video on Social media pretending to bribe the dummy.

Police state the dummies were erected along the Puttalam – Colombo road to control speeding and to get the attention of the drivers.

The police added that the video had been edited with sarcastic background music. Police charge that the duo had also damaged the head of the dummy.

The suspects were arrested on charges of damaging public property. They were produced before the Vavuniya Magistrate’s Court yesterday (January 3) and released on bail.
