Colombo (News 1st) - UNP Parliamentarian Hector Appuhami states that they have no intention of protecting the show ponies of the Government. He noted that they engaged in battle since the 26th of October on behalf of the people of this country and not to allow show ponies to use this victory to build massive mansions. He noted that they will create an upheaval from within the UNP to ensure that the workhorses of the party are protected. Appuhamy stated that if there are any ministers in the Government who do not want to respect the work of the workhorses, they will take measures to chase away these ministers from both the Government and the party. He noted that during the 50-day political impasse, they slept at temple trees to safeguard both Democracy and the Prime Minister.  Appuhamy claims that after they did all the hard work, the limelight is now on the show ponies of the party. He claimed that they will be strong opposition from their group if the party reverts back to it's old habits.
