Colombo (News1st) – In his 399th international outing, Indian skipper Virat Kohli surpassed the 19,000 run mark in international cricket. Kohli who holds the ICC number 1 ranking for batsmen in both Test and ODIs has had a great run of form over the past 12 months.
As he entered Australian series, he needed only 355 runs across formats to become quickest to the milestone of 19,000 ODI runs. He achieved the feat during India’s 4th Test against Australia which is currently underway.
According to his overall stats, Kohli has 6590 test runs, 10232 ODI runs and 2167 runs in T20I
He becomes the 12th batsman overall and 3rd Indian after Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to score 19,000 runs in international cricket.
Kohli now holds the record for quickest to reach 16000, 17000,18000 and 19,000 international runs.
