Case against Gotabaya Rajapaksa to be taken up on January 11

Colombo (News1st): The case filed against Gotabaya Rajapaksa and six others over the misappropriation of Rs. 39 million in public funds will be taken up again on the 11th of January by the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the first defendant in the case is currently overseas with approval from the court. However, the other six defendants were present in court today (January 3). The case will be taken up daily at the Permanent High Cour Trial at Bar from the 22nd of January. Meanwhile, the case filed against Former President's Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath and three others was taken up before the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar for the examination of evidence. They have been charged under 24 separate indictments for the misappropriation of Rs. 500 Million from Litro Gas.
