Dengue eradication programmes to be conducted in schools

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Special dengue eradication programmes organized by the Education and Health Ministries will be conducted in schools across the island both today and tomorrow. Issuing a communique, the Education Ministry notes that the programme is being conducted with the aim of maintaining a secure environment within schools and educational institutions before schools are reopened for the next year. The Education Ministry further notes that steps have been taken to educate all authorities at schools, science faculties, training schools, zonal and divisional educational institutes in the country to carry out this dengue eradication programs. Community Health Specialist of the National Dengue control unit Dr.Prashila Samaraweera said that the support of all parties including parents is essential for the matter.
