Central Bank returns to the Finance Ministry

Colombo (News1st) - The gazette notification which details the subjects and state institutions that come under each cabinet and non-cabinet ministry has been released.  Government printer Ganga Kalpani Liyanagenoted that they received the signed gazette from the President last night. According to the gazette, the Police Department and Government Printers Department have been brought under the purview of the defence ministry. All state media institutions and state banks, as well as the Central Bank, have been brought under the purview of the ministry of finance and media. The Department of Cultural Affairs, Department of Archeology, Central Cultural Fund, Department of Museums and number of other departments which were under the purview of the Ministry of Education have been reassigned to the Ministry of Housing and Cultural Affairs. The non-cabinet digital infrastructure ministry has been vested with the responsibility of CERT, ICTA and all institutions connected to ICTA.
