Suspect arrested near Hulftsdrop with a firearm

Colombo (News1st): A suspect was arrested near the Hulftsdorp court complex with a firearm and five bullets. The police said the suspect had attempted to open fire at a person at the court complex but the weapon did not fire. The target was a relative of a suspect who was to be produced before the courts for the possession of Kerala Ganja. The police state the gunman had attempted to fire at a relative who arrived at the court to seek bail. The gunman is a 48-year-old resident of Mattakkuliya. Information has come to light this incident took place as a result of an ongoing dispute between two organized criminal gangs in Modara. The arrested suspect is to be produced before the court tomorrow (December 29).
