Rs. 1.2 Mn collected in fines - PHI association

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The association of Public Health Inspectors Association notes that legal action was implemented against 1200 traders who had violated the food act. Secretary of the Association, Mahendra Balasuriya said that the traders were arrested in raids carried out over ten days. He further added that a sum exceeding Rs. 1.2 Million was also collected through fines from the traders who committed offenses coming under the said act.
