Ranil Wickremesinghe does not want to abolish the executive Presidency – Shehan Semasinghe

COLOMBO (News 1st) – UPFA Mp Shehan Semasinghe notes that PM Ranil Wickremesinghe has no intention of abolishing the executive presidency.

Semasinghe charges that Wickremesinghe’s goal is to change the way the President. He added that the UNP leader wants to ensure that the President is appointed through a vote in Parliament instead of a public vote.

The UPFA MP explained that Ranil Wickremesinghe did not trust the people as he had never been accepted by the people.  He continued to note that even though a UNP government is in power, UNPers are still frustrated

He made these comments at a media briefing held in Anuradhapura.
