1. Speaking at the
"Victory for Justice" public rally organized by the
United National Front yesterday (December 17),
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe made an announcement on the formation of
a new alliance, the
"National Democratic Front."

meeting between
President Maithripala Sirisena and the
party leaders of the UPFA is scheduled to be held this morning (December 18) at the
Presidential Secretariat.

UNP is attempting to

decision was made by the party to not accept any
Cabinet Ministerial, State Ministerial or Deputy Ministerial portfolios of the
new government.
